The Kannada Rajyothsava function was a special one for the year 1989 as it also marked the Birth Centenary of our first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The Chief Guest of the function was the then Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Mr. Budhiraj. Cultural items consisting of songs and dances were presented by the members of the Koota mostly by ladies. All the children of the Koota nearing 70 children participated in the cultural events. Whole stage was set up with curtains and sidings the previous night only by Managing committee/other committee members. Two days before the main function, a rehearsal of the entire program was conducted, each program was timed and edited to the minute detail. For practice of cultural items, the Koota children had to be taken in groups on Thursdays & Fridays between Ahmadi//Fahaheel/Abbasiya/ Salmiya/Mangaf and vice versa. Some of the members did this great job. Networking this whole arrangement was manually done and was fail proof. Program on the final function day finished nearest to a minute. It was so well managed.
