Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsava 2006

Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsava 2006 was held on the 10th November 2006 at Kuwait Fencing Association Hall, Dahiya Kuwait. The stage was set to resemble the great Mysore Palace which provided the right ambience for a colorful cultural evening. An event of this magnitude was blessed by the presence of a personality of the literary world no lesser than Prof. Nisar Ahmad to remind the Kannadigas living abroad of their rich literary and cultural heritage. The great Navodaya poet, Nadoja, Rajyotsava Prashasti and the winner of other awards blessed the Utsava as the Chief Guest of the event. The Kannadigas in Kuwait were thrilled to have such a great literary figure amongst them for the first time in the history of the Koota.

The program Program began at 4:25 pm with “Nadageethe” and lighting of traditional lamp by the Guest of Honor H.E. Mr. M. Ganapathy Ambassador of India to Kuwait and the Chief guest Prof Nisar Ahmed. Dr.Vivek Wani, President of KKK, welcomed the gathering. The Souvenir to mark the momentous occasion was released by H.E. Mr. M.Ganapathy. In his address to the gathering he praised the contribution of Kannadigas and Karnataka in the overall development of India. The executive committee of KKK along with the Ambassador H.E. Mr. M. Ganapthy honored the Chief Guest Prof. Nisar Ahmed in a traditional manner. Dr.Diwakar, Secretary of KKK introduced Prof. Nisar Ahmed to the gathering enumerating the achievements of the great personality of Karnataka. The highlight of the program was Prof. Nisar Ahmed’s speech in chaste Kannada. He paid tributes to the rich heritage of Karnataka State. He called upon all the Kannadigas to uphold the spirit of Kannada language.
