The second event of the year, a very special and distinctive one was felicitation of Dr. Sudha Murthy, the chairperson of Infosys Foundation, philanthropist and a well known writer. Dr Sudha Murthy was felicitated on 2nd March 2007 in Kuwait Fencing Society Hall, Daihya. The ceremony was graced by Indian Ambassador M Ganapathy and Kuwait Computer Services Managing Director Ahmed Al-Saleh. Various Indian professional organizations in Kuwait like Indian Doctors Forum, Indian Dental Association, Indian Engineers Chapter and Chartered Accountants participated. KKK President Sudhakar Shetty, Vice-president Dr. Keshava Bhat and Presidents/representatives of other associations spoke during the occasion. Dr. Sudha Murthy, while addressing the huge gathering stated “Philanthropy is not just giving away money. It’s much more than that,” In corporate world, there is a digital way of measuring the success. But in philanthropy, ‘Success rate cannot be measured digitally. In Infosys Foundation, it is nonlinear. “Philanthropy is all about sharing. We need to have more compassionate people in the corporate world who really feel for others. Money cannot create love for others neither it can be love be bought or inherited. One has to experience and vibrate with the joy and sorrow of the less privileged. Only then you will become a philanthropist,” she told the gathering.
