Rajyothsava, the signature event of Kuwait Kannada Koota was held on 14th November 2008 at the American International School for the first time in its state-of-the-art campus. The chief guest for the programme was Dr Fahad Al-Mulla, Asst Vice President for Research, Kuwait University who was also heading Molecular Pathology department of Health Science Center. Dr Fahad praised the Indian community for their contribution in health research in Kuwait’s scientific community. More than hundred Koota children participated in the cultural event themed on ‘Vishwa Karnataka Darshan’. This presented glimpses of various traditional dance formats of different parts of the world including India and Karnataka. One of our senior members enacted the role of Hanuman, our mythological God and Superhero to children who takes an inquisitive child on a special journey with him. The entire cultural programme was entwined around this journey around the world and also different states of India. The gala event concluded with a grand finale on a mythological character. Babruvahana, a traditional dance drama was performed by talented Koota members that received applause and appreciation from one and all.
